Swords of Sanghelios
“I am Tul 'Juran, first and only daughter of Kaiden Tulum 'Juranai, captain of his guard and scion of his keep.” - Tul 'Juran
So as the title of this thread suggests, I will be speaking about female Sangheili. I'll start off by saying that players may apply for Sangheili of the female gender in the Swords of Sanghelios faction from now on. This was decided after myself and another faction member had discussed the information revealed in the most recently released Halo book, Shadow of Intent. Particularly, a certain series of quotes stood out to us when it came to this matter. I will only be including certain parts of these quotes on this post, so that I may prevent revealing any serious spoilers for those who still would like to read the book.
“Slowly, but surely. The Blademaster was the worst, but even he is awake now and back to his usual bellowing.” Rtas stepped closer to the tank. “In fact, he wanted to speak with you. To discuss the revocation of certain naval codes . . . specifically those forbidding the enlistment of female crew.”
The Arbiter chuckled deep in his throat. “I hoped your voyage would be restful, but I never thought Vul ‘Soran would find it that relaxing.” Then, serious once more: “The time has come to change many of our old ways. This Scion is very welcome on your crew. I look forward to meeting her and honoring her.”
Well, I don't think it could be laid out any more plainly than that. Now, you may be wondering why I didn't add female Sangheili to the faction back after Halo 5: Guardians came out, as there is a female Sangheili operating a Phantom in that game. The answer to that is I simply wanted to be sure. The rather short campaign of Halo 5 did not reveal if female Sangheili could only operate on flying vessels, or if they could operate on the ground as well. Fortunately, Shadow of Intent answered that question.
Now, you will find that I will still be expecting the same amount of quality from every Swords application, whether they be for a male or female character. I do understand that the information on Sangheili females listed on Halopedia is rather limited at the current time, which is why I implore that you ask me any questions you may have on them if you are interested in making an application. I will clarify a few things right now, however.
- Female Swords characters will be following the same ranking structure as male characters. There will be equal opportunity for everyone to get promoted.
- They will gain access to the same weapons that other characters get when they are promoted.
- Relationships between Sangheili and Humans will continue to be professional. If I or any other staff member see some sort of intimate cross-species relationships going on, there will be OOC repercussions. Think of it. You would be fail roleplaying by suggesting that a "close" relationship like that could even happen, especially with the violent past these two species have endured through.
